Sarah Faitell Came to visual art by way of twigs and horses. She is a maker who tinkers, builds, draws, and sculpts objects. Hopping from Berlin to Accra and now Paris as an exchange student with the Sorbonne, she finds herself most at home living as a modern nomad.
Eva Jäger German-American artist/designer, Jäger devotes her time to the study of form and function, Born in Holland, this New York based art student is inspired by architecture that is constant dialogue with the contemporary art world and the sciences. She believes in smart design; design that changes to incorporate extraordinary technology and diverse perspectives. Jäger’s work fluxes between the languages of fashion, design, and fine art. Liz Janoff Born and raised in Brooklyn, Janoff explores a variety of artistic mediums, paying close attention to architecture and urban spaces. Currently with Interview Magazine in addition to MAKESHIFT, she brings her quirky, yoga-loving, fast-paced, but razor sharp take. This year she divides her time between NY, Berlin and Accra.
Alex Kleiman Curator, writer, art historian, culinary enthusiast. Chicago-born, now NY based, Kleiman is currently working with both Independent Curators International (iCI) and MAKESHIFT. Kleiman is enamored of the nonverbal, personal aspects of art-making and -viewing and is ergo working to redefine the role of the curator in contemporary society. Mitch Moore All the way from Lawarence, Kansas, Mitch Moore does NY, and with vigor. Moore makes music videos and video art, building on a fusion of retro-camp and neo-soul-punk, as well as working on several films in art direction.
Collin Munn curator, writer, photographer, and cultural theorist, brings a passion for Latin America and a West Coast perspective to the MAKESHIFT team. Collin currently works at the Studio Museum in Harlem, with Latitudes Curatorial Projects, and on his own curatorial ventures. Rioux was born in Metro Detroit, lives in Brooklyn, and has been making sounds for 20 years. He turns his environment into instruments, plays his guitar like a drum, programs, loops, and collaborates. Finds inspiration through yoga, meditation, bicycling, and cooking.
